Our therapy sessions are about more than just getting through the week or managing symptoms. This work is about meaningful, lasting change. We’ll explore the deeper patterns, stories, and emotional truths that shape your life. Instead of only focusing on what’s happening on the surface, we’ll get curious about the roots—where your struggles began, how you coped and made sense of things at the time, and what, with new understanding, you feel may better serve you now. According to psychodynamic theory, behavior is influenced by unconscious forces, so part of my approach to therapy is working to make the unconscious conscious. This theory also holds that mental health difficulties are related to unconscious conflicts.

In our sessions, we’ll slow things down and listen carefully to the parts of you that may have been overlooked, dismissed, or misunderstood. Often, pain grows from earlier experiences—especially relational experiences—that quietly shape how you see yourself. Our work is about understanding those influences with compassion, not judgment, which allows you to begin to change the narratives you may hold that no longer work for you. When hidden or disconnected parts of you are acknowledged and understood, change begins to feel natural and sustainable. Many clients describe this work as both clarifying and grounding—a place where they feel deeply seen while also learning how to move forward with more confidence and self-trust.

I draw from evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness practices, and relationship-focused methods to help you regulate emotions, set healthy boundaries, and strengthen relationships. I also offer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy as part of a carefully considered treatment plan when clinically appropriate.

Above all, therapy with me is a collaborative process. We’ll move at a pace that feels supportive and intentional, allowing for both depth and forward movement. My hope is that you come away feeling more aligned with who you truly are—and more equipped to live from that place.

When we look past the surface, or the conscious thoughts and feelings, we can gain better understanding of unconscious emotions, sensations, drives and responses. This can create more room for active choices.

For instance, many of us move through our adult lives with a set of beliefs and values that were imparted on us by our parents, community, etc. As we grow older, a misalignment between these learned beliefs and what may be more authentically “me” may create confusion, agitation, depression, anxiety, and so on. Through honest exploration, your own wants, needs, beliefs and values can be identified, so that you are living a life that feels true to you (which naturally eases some of those feelings of depression, anxiety, confusion and irritability). This is just one example of deeper work and how it can impact daily life.
