Who I am
Hi! I’m Sarah!
I’ve been working in the field of psychology for more than twenty years. I bring that experience- and what I’ve gained through my own healing journey— to the therapeutic process. I see therapy as a partnership; I’ll walk alongside you as we explore both familiar and uncharted aspects of your inner world. My hope is that you will come to feel a deeper sense of ease within yourself.
I’m grateful to be back in Western North Carolina after having practices in Chicago, IL, and Charleston, SC. I started my career in non-profit community mental health settings where I worked with refugees, individuals with severe and persistent mental health problems and addiction, and the unhoused. I absolutely loved that work and feel that it changed my life and how I view the world.
I’m an animal lover and spend much of my free time hiking with my two dog daughters, Ramona and Elinor. I also love kayaking, throwing pottery and cooking. I am always looking for an opportunity to learn something new, a passion that I bring to both my personal and professional life.
I’m glad you’re here and considering doing this work together. As Brene Brown says, “Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.”
Credentials: I am a licensed therapist in NC, IL and SC. I am certified through the Ketamine Training Center (KTC). I am board certified in Neurofeedback (BCN). I am a certified Advanced Addictions Counselor (AADC).
